SUMNER SCHOOL PICNIC.
Tho annual picnic of the SumneT jSchool wujs hold yesterday at Dunsandel. , Accompanied by the local baud nearly 350 children, Earents and friends were conveyed to and fro y special traina and trains. A lengthy programme of eports, etc., was gone "through, in the Domain, and a moat enjoyable day was spent, the weather being perfect. The satisfactory arrangements made by the committee caused everything , to run very smoothly. About 3.30 p.m. one of tho school boys, named Paul Chirclifield, met with an accident by falling fioia one of tho trees iv the Domain, and received come injury to his left wriat. Fortunately Kuree Field, of Sumner, was with the picnic party, and rendered first aid. The Loy was s«nt back to Christchurch by the first express from Duncdin in charge of Mr J. H. Gibbs.
