TALLY CLERKS' UNION.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON. February 10. The tally clerks' industrial dispute was before the Conciliation Council to-day, when a petition was presented to the Commissioner, signed by forty non-members of the union, seeking representation in the making of ah award.

The Commissioner said lie was unable to grant the request, as the practice was to allow workers to be represented by a registered union, and the employer's' representative before the Council said that the great majority of regularly employed clerks objected to an award, and were perfectly satisfied with the existing conditions. No agreement was arrived at between the parties, and the dispute will go to the Arbitration Court, when objectors to the union will have an opportunity of eiving evidence.
