ASHBURTON.
The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Ashburton Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, was held on Friday evening, when, the N.G-, Bro. James Gburdio, prosided: The resignation of Bro. E. M. Sandys as Vice-Grand, -was received, a,nd Bro. George Cayes was nominated to fill the office. It was resolved that Bro. T. J. Kennedy's name be placed on the merit board, and that the next meeting be. a summoned one to receive the yearly statement. After the Lodge was closed a degree lecture was held, when two brothers received the Scarlet degree. At the monthly meeting of the Coldstream Road Board, held last Thursday afternoon, the amount of £130 was passed for payment, being the amount promised by the Board as its share of the cost of the now bridge over the Hinds on the Main South Road. Mr Mr J. S. McDowell was granted the tenancy of the Hinds' pound for another year on tho same terms as_ before. Accounts amounting to £135 Is 6d were passed for payment.
