The Kaiser's health, the Pope's illness, tho Austrian Emperor's death, and a revolution in Spam, aro eubjects about which rumour is busy. Further, Sweden is apprehensive that Russia meditates attack upon her, although tho Ruieiian Government indignantly denies entertaining such designs. CHAGRINED~GERMANY. POWER OF~THE TRIPLE ENTENTE. DARK RUSSIAN SHADOWS. BERLIN, January 23. The reduction of the powers of General yon Sanders, head of the military mission to Turkey, has caused bitter disappointment and resentment in Germany. The '"Vossische Zoitung" describes it as a trngi-conicdy. It asserts that the Triple Entente, iv addressing Germany, proceeds from conversation to advice, irom advice to requests, and from requests to threats. The Conservative organ, the Berlin "Post," sees dark Russian shadows closing upon Germany from every quarter. Tho Fatherland, it says, has been warned off Asia Minor, and cold-shoul-dered all along the line. It describes Germany as a wallflower on an occasion when she has an historic right to be the belle of the ball.
