PRAISE FOR NEW ZEALANDERS.
(By Cable.—Pi«« Association—Copyright.) (Received December 24th, 12.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 23. The "Daily Telegraph" says that the New Zealand cricketers started for the North, believing that they would win a couple of country matches, and then take a big beating from Queen-land. They accomplished the unexpected, and beat tho Northern State- in* a fashion that stamps them as cricketers with tho hall-mark of fighters in a tight situation. The fact that six scored double figures, considering the wicket, eavs a good deal for the grittiness of the fight put up by them. The 'Telegraph" adds that the success of Sandman, the "googlie expert," is causing New South Wales enthusiasts to look forward to the visit of the team.
