Dr. Newman, chief medical officer of the Education Board, reports that of six millions of school children examined, 10 per cent, possessed defective eyesight, 2 per cent, defective hearing, 2 .per cent, suppurating ears, 10 per cent, adenoids, 1 per cent, ringworm, 1 per cont. tuberculosis, 3o per cent, heart disease, over 50 per cent, required the dentist, and over half a million were.physically undermined owing to malnutrition.
