Tho driver receives notification of tho position of tho signals. If everything is all right a bell rings in the engine cab, and if the signals are at danger the irhistle blows, and the brakes are applied automatically. If tho apparatus fails in any particular another distinct signal warns the driver. Tho system will gradually be extended throughout tho Great Western Railway.
