W.B.SOOTT AND CO.
One of the- most unfortunate aspects «">f the strike from a motorist's point - of view is tho fact that Messrs W. B. Ocatt and Co. have been robbed of the opportunity of giving their usual magnificent display of automobiles at the Show. However, a photo of one of the cars which are held t'p in Wellington is enough to assure tiurobserver that the new Vauxhall models are such that there will be nothing hero to live alongside them for ■. appearance an d style. The car under discussion is fitted vrith the latest typo of streamline body, and its rakish lines givo a wonderful and true impression of speed and power, :ui impression that »'well borne out by the pen'ormnnces f.f the car. Messrs Scott and Cα. are magnificent display of VauxhaHs,. F.I.A.T.'s, Regals, and G.W.K. ea^ s t. their commodious garago in "wweester street.; several of the latest
undorsluHg llcjsals are shownj faired for hill-climbing and luxurious .springing, ranging in juice from jL'-c-j to £-150 e:K;h, and th.--.c- cars can bo fitted with the latest ekeirie starter and iiphtiu-i outfit. The F.I.A.T. Company is represented by two beautiful l~>-20 h.p. find 12-I.j models, the new V) h.p. Torpedo -!-soater being detained in Wellington. Thu 120 h.p. touring Vauxhall is the la:>i word in motor construction, and tho finish of the engine and transmission, as well as that of the body work is a tribute to the designer and" manufacturer. This is a .similar model to that which gained the gold modal for reliability and special prize for petrol consumption in the Hannior and back, via Cheviot, trial, and repeated tho performance over the severe Christchurch - Kaikoura - Chiistchurch
course. In Iho first trial it, averaged 3o m.p.g. over SIB miles of hills and rivers. W. B. Scott and Co. are the only agents in New Zealand that have never taken swnnd nlace to any car for speed and hill-climbing. Tho •'star' product of tlio Vauxball Company is undoubtedly the Princo Henry modol, which is on view. This enr swept the board for speed on Okairi's Hill, and was second to its stnblemate, tho 20 b.p. tourinc; air. on formula. This is tho auto thnt Mr Allan Doone was to have met on tho Brighton bench with his 80 h.n. National racer, but he, for very good reasons, br.ckci out at the last moment. The Pri'icc Henry is now pquinnM with a 2-j l<.p. engine and is <=Tir>r>He'l with pevernl tvnpv of smart «n<->rtina: bodies and a Brookl.t'x's certificate' to. Inn that track .it PO rrWlns DPT hour. The smart li>+U? O"W K. evele-cir. at a complete of £ 1 fo. is bp.vond nncl is sn«wvlv nnd economical. AY. B. Bc>+fc and Co.'s stock of tvrcs nnd accessories is the 'nr)j<?st in rte Dominion, and a very insfriicfive hour can be sne"t in looking round tho commodious garage.
