CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON
(pness association txi.kgbiu.) WELLINGTON, November 12. A Conference of the Post and Telegraph Oflicers' Association, which has been sitting for some time past, ha.-i arrived, at a Jiuinber of. resolutions,, principal among which are that the classification list, compared with other Civil servants, is der-rimental to the Post and Telegraph officers. It protests against differentiation, and urges rectification with a "general increase in salaries in all grades above- tho rank and file. Pest office sorters, who have clerical duties, shojikl bo placed in the clerical division. No deduction should b-i' made from tho annual leave on account of sick leave. All overtime should bo paid for in cash. Vacancies worth more than £180 ocr annum to
bo filled by male officers •" applicants to have tho right of appealing in-person or by representative before the A\>peal Board. No provision under the Superannuation Act to be less than £1 a week. ■' The Conference objected to only thirty days being allowed to lodge appeals, ?..s wholly inadequate, and a-sked for ninety days, and also that the classification list should be drawn up on similar lines to the Public Service list.
