WERTHEIM SEWING MACHINES.
cxcol,,-n t display of the ivondc-rtul Wer-| rheim sewing Machines in the mam •niiQing. These well-known machine's | nave been old favourites in Christen urch for many years; some are still giv.ng iaithtui sen-ice, in spite of their no: n<; m use for over thirty years. _\U ladies are interested in sewing, and tlie exhibit was well worth a visit, especially considering the fact that the latest triumph was demonstrated by an expert. Tljp prominent feature of the most recent model. :s that they sew ■o-ci.wards and forwards and this'groat advantage will not ntvd to be explained to anyone who is. accustom*.xi to using a semng machine. Another point m connexion with tho latest models is that tho head has been considerably enlarged, and moro room provided miller tho longer arm giving greater ease and freedom in working. The number oi parts._ has been reduced to the minimum, consequently there is no friction and nothing to get out of order. A n.w system of ballbearings, embodied in the stand, decreases the vibration and gives exceptional light-running qualities. The excellence of the cabinet work was a noticeable point about the machines, making them remarkably handsome pieces of furniture. The Werthoim' line includes machines for every purpose, and there fs no doubt tnat the Werthcim Boot Arm stands in a class hv itself, a fact to which tlie large number in use testifies.
