Sir John French, Chief of the Imperial General Staff, replying to tho toast of "The Army" at tho Guildhall banquet, said that, as Chief of the Staff, he was always in the closest communication with the Staffs of the oversea Dominions. "I am very glad to bo ablp to assure you that the relations between the various parts of tbe Imperial Army grow closer and moro cordial every year."
