Whdnesoay, Novehiier 12. AFTER NOON SITTING. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. FIRST REApINC'S. The Medical Practitioners' Bill aud the Temporary Empftiyees' Bill were read a first time. MUTUAL EIRE INSURANCE BILL. Tl-o Hon. F. H. D. BELL moved the gecond reading of the .dutual Fire InHiiianco Act Amendment Bill, explaining that it was intended thereby to give to Farmers' Associations the right to insure their employees' against accident, as they now had the rijjdit to insure their building, against lire. The Hon. J. ANSTEY said before the Bill passed they should have _ome information as to the stability of the Associations now formed. Th© proposed regulations should bo fixed by the Act, and not made by Order-in-Council..
Air BELL, in his reply, promised to endeavour \.o supply the desired information regarding tho working of the Associations, but he could not see how tho regulations could be formulated except' by Order-in-Council. The second reading was agreed to. SECOND READINGS.
Tho Government Railways Act Amendment 3'H and the Shipping and Seamen Bill were read a second time. The Council rose at -Llo'p.rq.
