HIGH COMMISSIONER SPEAKS.
(By Cable.— Press Association.—Copyright) LONDON, October 29. The Hon. T. Mackenzie, interviewed regarding the Naval Statement, declared that New Zealand's policy would have the effect of impressing the Imperial authorities with the necessity of meeting the widely-felt wishes of Britons overseas for a more effective voice in Imperial affairs. Representation on the Imperial Defence Committee was not a final solution, but was a step forward. A STIMULATING PROPOSAL. ("Time9"-Sydncy "Sun" Special Cable.) LONDON, October 29. "The Times," in a leading article, welcomes the inauguration of a New Zealand Navy as stimulating her people to give of their brain and sinew to help in maintaining intact the supremacy of tbe Empire on the seas.
