CANTERBURY v. WAIRARAPA.

To-day, at Lancaster Park, the Canterbury team try conclusions with Wairarapa. This game should attract a record attendance. The visitors are alleged to be the champion team of New Zealand, and their win against Taranaki (who are the present holders of the Raniurly Shield) certainly stamps them as a brilliant combination. The Canterbury selection is certainly astrong one, and although tho visitors' chances are slightly favoured, the homo team can be relied on to give a bright display. A feature of the day will bo the farewell games of H. M. Taylor and H. V. Murray, who leave next week to join tho "All Blacks," on route for California. A curtain-raiser has been arranged between the Christchurch and Wellington branches of the Post and Telegraph Department. Tho teams are as follows: — Canterbury— J. Bain, W. W. Simmers, D.
