CHEAP LUNCHES.
"Lot us practise what wo preach." So said Mr W. J. Bryan, Secretary of State, when ho bought two buns ami n piece l of ohce.so for three-halfpence, and ato his lunch. Mr Bryan is rich, and need not economise unless ho wishes. In lunching for threo cents, America's Prime Minister wont two cents better than Mr Roosevelt, who recently called the reporters to liis office in New York to announce to them that ho had just bought "a bully lunch" for five cents at a public school restaurant.
