Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday: — West to BOHtli-wcetorly winds have prevailed,' strong to gale in parts. The weather has boen unsettled and ekowery, especially on the West Coast. The barometer rose in the South during the night, but is still falling slowly in the North, and i 3 unsteady at the Bluff. Present indications are for west to southwesterly winds, Etron? to gale, with cold, changeable and showery weather generally. Tho barometer is unsteady, but will probably rise everywhere shortly.
