GRAIN SALE.
The New Zealand I»an and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report; having held their periodical grain sale at their South Belt warehouses at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday. There was n good attendance of buyers, but the sale lacked, animation, and bidding was scarcely aa spirited as usual. The catalogue comprised about 1000 sacks, of which 6-700 sacks were sold at auction and privately. "Wheat —Whole fowl brought up to 3s 6d, seconds from 2s 7d to .'is 2d. Oats—Gortons \ip to 2s 4Jd seconds Is 9d to 2s. Potatoes—Seed up to oos, sacks in.
