The Christchurch Glee and Madrigal Society will give a concert on board H.M.S. New Zealand on Monday evening. A special train leaves for Lyttelton at 7.15 p.m. I. A public lecture will be given by the llight Rev. Bishop . Cleary, in the King's Theatre, next Thursday evening, on "Tho Bible-in-Schoo!s Scheme, in its Relations to Taxpayers, Parents. Teachors, and Pupils." A meeting of the Canterburv »weet Poa and Carnation Sooiety wilfbe held in the Veterans' Association's rooms, Gloucester street, on the 22nd inst., at 8 p.m.
• A meeting of farriers of Cbmtchureh and district is to be held in Baker Brothers' Auction Rooms, to consider the formation of an association.
An organ recital in commemoration of tho birth of Wagner, will be given in His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow at 8.30 p.m.
Tho adjourned meeting of the-share-holders in tho Cust Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd.. will be held in the Institute Hbll, Cust, on the 2Gth inst., at 8 p.m.
A meeting of the creditors of A. E. King, carpent<ir, of French Farm. Barry's Bay. will be held on tho 23rd iflst., at 2.30 p.m.. in tho.. office of the Official Assignee, Christchurch. ' In connection with the visit of the Xcw Zealand, the Rev. C. H. Laws will preach a special sermon to-morrow night, at the Durham street Church, on "Empire and Destiny: Thoughts from the Deck of the Battleship."' There will be special music from C.30 to 6.45 p.m.
