LABOUR UNITY CONGRESS.
CIRCULARISING THE UNIONS
(PROM A CORRESPONDENT.)
WELLINGTON. May 16
_ Tho Unity Congress Committee is circularising tho various trades unions throughout the Dominion, whom it addresses as "dear comrades," asking for suggestions in some eight questions attached to tho memorandum. A striking featuro.of the document is the respective solicitation of tho committee, which is appearing in a somewhat new role. There is, for a change, nothing dictatorial in the circular, which, read between tho lines, indicates that the Congress Committee is not quite so sure as it was of the alleged swallowing of Labour whole at tho July Congress. Inter alia the Unions are requested to advise as to the best methods of forwarding tho Labour movement, industrially and politically, of how best to oust the Massey Government; and what their idea is concorning tho establishment of a Labour or a weekly newspaper.
