Ensor, Dr. Levinge, J. C. C. Gebbie, H. E. B. Watson, A. Chamberhiin. J. Johns, W. Henderson, H. Little, H , . E. Pervman. and 1). McMillan Colonel R. A. ChafFey wrote thanking the Association for the use of the Show Grounds for the holding of the Mounted Rifio sports. Mr \V. 1). Stewart applied for F.ix months' leave of absence, and also brought up the subject of the exchange of properties which he thought was not in the best interests of the fanning community. Tho leave of absence was granted, and the subject cf the exof properties was referred to the Provincial A. and P. Conference. In response to :v letter from the sec--etary of the Dominion Conference, Messrs J. Grigg. W. F. Parkinson. D. D. Macfarlane and J. D. Hall were appointed delegates to represent the Canterbury A. an-1 P. Association at tho Dominion Conference. THE DEBT. Tho Chairman read the courmunkation from a correspondent eigrring himself "Anti-Taihea' , (which appeared in "Tho Press") offering £'ouO towards the liquidation of the debt which now encumbered tho As.ociation, providing the rest of the moDey vss found bel'oro tho end of tho yeJsr. THa Chairman said he thought that Tio better way could bo found to commemorate the Jubilee year. Some discussion ensued as to the best way to go to work, r.ntl it v.-as decided that the Finance and Ground Committees choose an executive -committee to take the matter in hand. GROUND- COMMITTEE'S REPORT. Mr W. Hay.vn.rcl, jun.. chairman of tho Ground Committee, submitted the following report and recommendations* ■ —"(U With reference to tho suggestion mado p.t the annual meeting that before putting further improvements on the grounds the committee should take into consideration the question of ruoving to another less expensive site, as the present grounds may in a few years bo too small, the Ground Committee, carefully considered the .ibovo suggestion, and" caino to the conclusion that the grounds, with certain rearrangements which may be incde at some future time, would be laigo enough for m.my years to come. (2) That a second gate !>o provided into tho trotting grou.id roadway, to provide for an entranco and an exit. (3) That a regulation, bo made with reference to rams left on tho grounds after the ram fair, viz.:—That rams must bo removed from tho Show Grounds within two weeks from the date of the ram fair; any rams remaining after two weeks will be sold by tli". Association at owners' risk. (4) That' the loading bank be extended by 32 yards, and that divisions be provided so as to obviate mixing of sheep of different owners. (5) The committee h»ive under consideration the drainage of the lower portion of the grounds. (6) As instructed by-the General Committee, a deputation, consisting of Messrs W. Hayward, J. D. Hall, and J. Stevenson, waited on the Minister for Railways ro complaints made by southern exhibitors in the matter of delay in untrucking stock at the Show- The Minister promised the deputation that the matter would "receive consideration."

Mr W. Hayward moved tho adoption of the report and said that the suggestion and recommendations made had oijlv been arrived p.t after very careful consideration. Mr J. D. Hall seconded tho adoption of the report, which was carried.

THE IMPLEMENT QUESTION

Mr R. E. Alexander, chairman of the Implement Committee, submitted :i report as follows:—"The Implement Committee, in, pursuance of the recommendation of the annual meeting, has approached the implement firms that have, not exhibited for tho last few years, and have received a promise from ono firm that they are prepared to exhibit under certain conditions. The committee make the following recommendations : —(1) That the charge for spaco for implements be reduced from 2s per foot to Is per foot frontage by 80 feet deep. (2) That two gold and four silver medals be offered for competition as follows: —The gold medals to -be awarded to two complete, machines or implements which, in the opinion of the judges, show the greatest expenditure of thought and workmanship, calculated to provide the farmer with new and improved machinery, such being exhibited for the first time in the current year, competing machines of implements to be subject to trial if required. The silver medals to be awarded to machines or parts of machines which indicate that tho makers are attempting to meet requirements for new machinery for the cultivation of the land or treatment of the pnxhicts of tho soil, but wh'ch may not bo deemed worthy of a gold medal, or which have not been sufficiently tested in actual work. (3) The Committee recommend that the judging of implements and New Zealand manufactures take place on Thursday, instead of Wednesday; all exhibits to bo in position on Wednesday evening. Mr R. E. Alexander moved, and ,3lr Lochhead seconded, the adoption of tho report, which was carried. SHOW DATE. It was decided th3t the .Tub'lce Show bo held on November 12th, 13th, and l'ith. NEW MEMBERS. Tho following new members were elected: —Messrs J. H. Curlett (Wainui>, E. Stone (Island Farm), F. K. Hunt (Christchurch), C Thacker (Okain's Boy), E. Brown (Lyttelton), and A. A. Johuson (Christchurch). ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £213 7s 2d were passed for payment.
