ASHBURTON
There was a very moderate attentlance at the weekly stock sale held at the Ashburton yards yesterday, when tho entry totalled 7856, as against 7851 the previous week at the Tinwald yards. The yarding of fat sheep and lambs showed a decieled increase on last week's totals, numbering 3509, as against 2(319. This was no eloubt duo to the weather experienced last week, and farmers and graziers finding their stock going back in condition. The increased yaiuing, together with the absence of the new export buyer of last week, saw prices go back to normal. Price-s obtaineel were as follows: —Prime ewes, los to 17s; extra heavy maiden ewes, 225; mediumweights'. 13s 2d to l-4s 7d; others, 12s Gd to 12s 7d; prime wethers, 20s Id to 225; others, 17s 8d; prime freezing lambs, 17s to 19s lOd: extra heavy, 21s 7d; others, 14s 4d to 16s 6d. Fat heifers made £5 17s 6d to £8: fat steers, £6 10s to £9 10s ; store heifers, £3 7s Gd to £4; small store heifers, 32s 6d; bull, £4 2s Gd.
