There was a largo attendance at. the markets yesterday. In tho stock saleyards the entry was 5000 sheep, of which 2500 were fat Lambs, 120 cattle, and 150 pigs. Prices were: —Fat lambs, 17s Od to 22s 0d; wethers, 19s 6d to 26s Gd; ewes, 14s Gd to IG S <hl ; and a special line to 235; store and forward lambs, 14s Gd to 16s; wethers, 14s Id to 16s; sound-mouth six and eight-tooth ewes, 18s 9el: failing-mouth ewes, 12s to 14s; two-tooth wethers, 14s. Cattle: Fat cows, £6 to £7 10s; heifers, to £7 2s 6d; yearlings, 50s; calves, 27s Gd to 335; springers, £G 15s to £8 ss; dairy cows, £5 10s to £6. Pigs: Baconor.Sj 55s to 755; porkers, 45s to 48s; stores, 2.5s to 355; small pigs, 8s to 18s.
In the produce yards prices were:— Heavy crossbred sheepskins Gs Gd, medium os, lighter 3s, lambskins 4s Gd, calfskins Gs,* fleece wool Bid per lb, crutchings sd, horsehair Is, hides s_d, fat l-_d* Poultry: Roosters Gs 2d per couple, hens 2s Gd, pullets 3s, ducks ss; chicken wheat 3s 9d per bushel, taats 2s 6d. feed barley 3s 6d, pens 3s 3d, beans 3s 4d, grass-seed 2s, bran 5s 9d per sack, oatsheaf chaff 3s, straw chaff Is Gd, pigmeal Bs, peameal 9s, sharps 9s Gd, potatoes Bs, parsnips ss, apples lid par lb, pears Id, quinces Id, onions l.d.
