DRUNKENNESS. Thomas Eagan, chanced with helpless drunkenness, was convicted and oruered to pay the police espouses £3 Os (id, in deiau t one mantii's imprisonment. x_o was also ordered to report twice a week to the nearest police station

PROHIBITION ORDERS. William Withell (Mr Flesber) was fined lUs and. costs for having entered licensed promises while prohibited. He was also fined 10s and costs for having procured liquor whilo prohibited, and on three otiier charges oi" having procured iquor he was convicted and oruered to come up for sentence when called upon Marie Sanson, for having procured liquor while prohibited, was convicted aud discharged. Charles Alfred Clark, for having entered licensed premises while prohibited, was nneu _0s and costs, and for having procured liquor during the currency of a .prohibition order he was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Emma Esther Snaw, cnarpjod with having entered licensed premises while prohibited, was fined 10s and costs. William Arthur Cocker, charged with drunkenness and with having procured liquor whilo prohibited, was convicted and dcelared an habitual inebriate, and was ordered to be detained in Roto Roa for two years. ADJOURNED. James Phillipson (Mr Leathern) was charged with having unlawfully sold liquor. The caso was adjourned till May 20th, to euablo Mr Bisiiop to deal with it. MAINTENANCE. Arthur Gordon Goodrich (Mr Leathern) was charged with having failed to maintain threo children in an orphanage. Ho waa convicted aud sentenced to two mouths' imprisonment, tlio warrant to be suspended provided 10s per week bo paid, aud the order to be suspended until tho arrears bo paid oif. Alfred William Wheal was charged with having failed to maintain two children, inmates of a receiving home, the arrears amounting to £20. Ho was convicted and sentenced to twenty-one days' imprisonment, tho warrant to bo suspended for threo months and not to issuo if £5 bo paid within that period. James O'Malley was charged with having failed to maintain two inmates of h, receiving home. He was ordered to pay 3s a week towards the support of each child. James Hallam (Mr Leathern) was charged with having failed to maintain his wifo and child. Mr Cuningham appeared for the complainant. The defendant was ordered to pay 17s 6d a week towards his wife and child's support, sho to have the custody of tho child. Sydney Thomas Pledge was ordered to pay 10s a week towards his wifo'd maintenance.
