Representatives from tlio Merivale and Athletic (Wellington) Clubs tried conclusions on tho South Ground at TLancaster Park on Saturday. ; Tho high wind militated against a gocd display of football, but, nevertheless, the game was interesting. Tho visitors won by 14 points to 8. For tho winners E. Roberts kicked three goals from , marks, and converted a try scored by S. Wilson and for the losers tries were scored by Scott and Waite, Hasell con-* -verting one. Mr W. Woods was referee. »
