QUEEN'S THEATRE.

Very large audiences on Saturday witnessed tho new programme of Messrs Macma-hon and Edwards's continuous pictures, exhibited at the Queen's Theatre. The films screened greatly pleased owing to their variety and high standard of excellence. "The Great Tijrer Ruby" was a detective story of enthralling interest, and it was followed with the closest attention. '•Love on Tough Luck Ranch" dealt with the adventures of two lovers who elopo and are pursued by the lady's irate father. The old and ever-interest-ing story of "Rip Van Winkle" was pleasingly pourtrayed in a series that appealed strongly to all sections of the audiences, and more especially to the children. A fine scenic film depicted the lovely scenery between Cologne and Bingen, and an exquisite educational film dealt with the "Wonders of Chrystalisation." An exceedingly humorous burlesque drnna was pourtrayed in "Plot and Plash," and the picture evoked a great amount of merriment. Another instalment of Lieutenant Rose's wonderful adventures was followed with keen interest. The comedy natures included "Tho Ma-yjr from Wand." "Ho-ran ve-sus Schmiit," and "Eunnicus, Boat-builder." The same programme will be shown to-day and this evening, and in addition there w:ll he'screened tho fine dramatic picture "A Red Man's Conscience," in which a pleasing love story, intermixed with stirring adventure, is devolopcd. The story has for its motive the sacrifice of an Indian who has killed his rival. For his deed he is condemned to meet death within a year, and does so by joining tbe!Confederate Army in the American Civil War and meeting death while, as the "forlorn hopes of the army, he blows un a bridge. The two films fuvwinllv' selected for child rem—"Rip Van Wihk'e" and "Lieutenant Rose and Gun Runners" —will be repeated to-day and to-morrow.
