(rR_SS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, February 24. At tho Supremo Court Herbert Wallace, alais Wormian, and Thomas William Adams came up for sentence on a charge of assault and robbery. Tho former was sentenced to throe years' imprisonment, and the latter to 18 months,' to be followed by 18 months' reformative treatment. NELSON, February 24. The Criminal sessions of the Supremo Court opened to-day before Mr Justice Chapman. Robert Alfred Schwass, i charged with (1) attempting to murder his wife by cutting her throat, (2) wounding and doing grievous bodily harm, (3) assaulting her so as to cause grievous bodily harm, was found guilty on the second and third counts, tencing prisoner to ten years' imprisonment, his Honour said ho had seldom known of a moro barbarous and cruel offence.
