• — ' POISON THROUGH AN OPERATION. (PEESS ASSOCTATIOV TET.EGRAV.) ELTHAM, February 24. Gloom has been cast over tho Eltham district by the sad death of Dr. G. A. Harrison yesterday morning. About a fortnight ago ho attended a child patient, on whom he operated for acute abscesses on tho neck. "When bandaging the wound he slightly pricked the thumb of his left hand with the pin used for-fastening the bandage. A few days later symptoms of blood poisoning manifested, and increased with alarming rapidity, and a. week ago his arm was amputated. Since then Dr. Harrison had been lying in a critical condition, causing great anxiety to his medical attendants. Ho passed away yesterday morning. His age was 47, and ho had been practising in the district for nearly twenty.ears. He was greatly esteemed by the people.
