FREEZING WORKS EMPLOYEES AND HARVEST HANDS.
A farm labourer from the Ashburton district who was seeking Avork in North Canterbury was asked how it was that he could not find work at harvesting in the Afihburton district. He ropl'ed that the freezing works' hands were manning the harvest fields to the exclusion of tho farm labourers. The advent of tho freezing works hands in bVc hari-est field was be ng resented by tho men who usually sought this work.
