NEW BRIGHTON SURF CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of tho. , New Brighton Surf Club was held last * night. Present: —Messrs V. J. Drake (in the chair), 11. Campbell, F. Sutcr, C. Bryant, C. T. Moslcy, E. Clarkson, L. Matson, B. Harding, A. G. Munns, R. Clarke, and tho secretary, A. P. "■'. Hopkins. Correspondence was read from tho Sumner Borough Council covering the resolutions passed at the recent meeting regarding the limiting cf the bathing areas, and from tho Canterbury Centre, thanking the club . for the manner in which tho members had entertained the lato visitors from Sydney. It was decided that thoso members of the club who showed efficiency in life-saving in the surf should, in future, be provided with a distinctive " badge, and that as soon as tho club pavilion was erected, classes would bo held for instruction in life-saving it ' tho surf.
