AUCKLAND v. CANTERBURY. (press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, January 13. The following players have been chosen to rractice in view of the Plunk t Shield match against Canterbury:—Hemus, Taylor, Cummings, Smith, the Rev. Hay, Tattersall, Olliff, Summerville, Anthony, Grenier, Kerr, Mason, Hvrspool, Robinson, Snedden, Kavanagh, Sale, Dacre, Howden, and Jacobsen. A matoh was played at Sydenham Park on Saturday between the Municpnl : Officers' Cricket Club and T. H. Green and Co., the former winning on the first innings by 28 runs. Smith 34, Brown 26, Carr 20, and Dawe 20 were the highest scorers for the winners, and Robson 30 and French 26 for the losers. Bowling honours were shared by Cropp for the winners and O'Connor and French for the losers.
