.The brown filly Irnrner, by Martian — Everlasting, has been sold by Mr H. Friediander to a patron of C. Pritchard's stable at 'irentham. Tho chestnut filly Golden Morn, by Cannie Chiei —Good Morning, has joined 11. Longley's stable. The same trainer is also breaking in a two-year-old bay colt by Glenapp—Perkin Warbeck 11. mare.
and Gold Cup, two of Mr J. C. N. Grigg's horses, are at present quartered at Riccarton.

T. F. Quiniivan leaves Hastings on Thursday for Wellington, taking with him Midnight Sun. Moonbria, Koonya, and The two former will bo shipped to Sydney the day after their arrival in the Empire City, ono of Quiulivan's sons going in charge of the pair. On thvir arrival in Sydney, Midnight Sun and Moonbria will he handed over to H. Ray nor for training. Moo7ibria, who went amiss just prior to tho Spring Meeting of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club last year, has evidently recovered from tho mishap, for so far he has been, moving along in a satisfactory fashion. He is a half-brother _to Midnight Sun, by Merriwee, and is a fine-looking colt. Brown Owl, Masterpiece, and Hcatherbrae have been nominated for tho Egmont Il.C.'s Summer Meeting. Tho first-named pair figure in the Egmont Cup and Atkinson Memorial Handicap, while Heatherbrae is in tho short-distance events.
Tho Mnrtinborough trainer, J, Russell, was the victim of a buggy accident a few days ago, in which ho suffered a slight concussion of tho brain. At latest reports he was progressing favourably.
Bobrikoff, Soltano, and The Hnguo aro going along satisfactorily in their o?ra.ys on tho track at Napier Park. Jason has boon eased off, and for some time to come tho son of Achilles will not bo asked to exert liimself to any great extent. Our Greymouth correspondent telegraphs:—Following tho lead sot by tho local Trotting Club, tho (Jroymouth Jockey Club has decided to effect improvements at tho Omotu racecourso at an estimated cost of £800. .The works to be undertaken include tho erection of a new britlgo over tho Omotu creek, tho alteration of the turn from the straight, and the banking up of tho track. The works will be completed by the time the October Meeting comes round.
