Sisson It waa decided that the new by-laws with. ! reference to the question of lights on vehjcles should come into effect on February Ist next A deputation representing tho residents of Wright's road Spreydon, asked that the Council should, assist them in the work of widening that street, tho estimated cost being £450. Tho residents would gtvo £00, the Government would be asked to give £300, and it was hoped ™£* th e Council would contribute n. • c chairman reported that r *if nsin€er estimated that the cost ■of the work would be £560. It was v ld *d that the Works Committee should inspect the road and report. ■ X* 1 * *-ouncil resolved that the various j ridings should be debited with the ! amounts incurred in raising special , loans. The question of the disposal of loose soil on the roads camo up, and jit was decided that ratepayers could ! obtain it on application. Accounts amounting to £1061 11s 7d were pa.«sed I for payment, and the financial state- > ment showed a debit balance of £2284 l in the general account.
