AN AMENDMENT DEFEATED.
Mr James Hope's amendment to the Homo Rule Bill, providing for the susDension of tho Irish Executive in timo of war or national emergency, was defeated by 288 votes to 159.
•Sir Rufus Isaacs declared that every legitimate safeguard had been taken to protect liritain in war time.
