—-» . Mr Wi Impett, of Auckland, is on a visit to Christchurch. . Arrivals in town yesterday i-/hided Mr C. C. Roberts (Ashburton), Mr E. Macfarlane (Coldstream), Mr G. O. Rutherford (Montrose), Mr W. Sathorthwaito (Timaru), Mr T. C. Burgess (Pigeon Bay), Mr W. Cornish and Mr F. Cornish (Perth). ' Dr. D. P. Dunhill, president of the Student Christian Movement, left Rangiora last evening for the south to attend to private business and join tho private fishing party of medical gentlemen from Melbourne. At the Christchurch Gas Company's office yesterday evening a presentation was made to Mr W. O. Casbolt who has been sixteen years in the company's service as manager of the, show room department. Mr Casbolt is leaving to take up a similar position in Wanganui. The presentation which was made on behalf of the staff by Mr E. W. Reed, consisted of a Kaiapoi rug, a set of military brushes and a case of pipes. A very pleasant gathering took place at the residence oOIr Sidney Williamson on Friday evening when the choir of St. Andrew's Church met to present him with a handsome Morris # easy chair. Mr Charles Bills, who is the oldest member of tho choir, in making the presentation referred to Mr Williamson's ability and work in connection with tho choir,, and the esteem in which he is held by the members. Mr Williamson suitably acknowledged tho gift and the good wishes expressed. Mr Bills, on behah* of \Mio choir, then presented Mr J. Maclean with a watch and chain as an expression of thanks for his efforts on behalf of tho choir, and his sorvices as librarian.
