SHIPPING NOTES.
Tho Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Zcalandic is loading about 7000 bales of wool and a quantity of tallow, etc., for London. She is to sail on (ho 31st met., for Port Chalmers, Tiniaru, and Wellington, to complete loading, and will sail finally, from Wellington on January lltb, for London, via Monte Video and Tcneriffe. With tho advent of the holidays quite ft. number of vessels are- being: laid up at Port Chalmers for overhaul. Tho overhaul of tho Maitai and Kauri is nearly completed, and Ihe Oamaru dredge will be docked tomorrow, together with tho Flora and Kowhai. Tho Wanaka, Pukaki, and Whangape are also on tho list for survey and overhaul within thenext week or two, oonseqUentlv the yarioue repair .shops aro in for a very busy time. The Shaw, Savill liner Waiwera came out of Port Chalmers dock on Monday, after having been cleaned and painted. She sailed for Wellington, where ebo will commenco her Homeward loading. Her other loading ports will be Nanier, Auckland, Gisborne, Port Chalmers, Timaru, and Wellington, in tho order named. She is to return to Port Chalmers on" January 10th, and will lcavo Wellington finally α-bout the middlo of next month for London. The Opouri 13 duo hero to-day with a cargo ol timber from Greymouth, and after discharging, will eail on Saturday on her return to that port. " The Rakiura ie duo here to-day from Hokitikft, via Westport, with & carero of timber, and is to ea-il on Saturday for Greymouth. Tho Poherua left Greymoutb on Tuesday evening with a cargo of coal for Lyttelton, and is duo hero this afternoon. t
