A Press Association message from Hastings says that tho training stables and a whare occupied by Leslie Carrick, trainer for Rangi Keiehoma, were destroyed by firo on Monday evening. Four horses in tho loose-boxes were let out, but the two-year-old Bungeebah, by Stronghola— Tho Brat, ran back into the burning building, and was burnt to death. Tho contents of tho whare and considerable i'eed were lost. There was no insurance on tlie horse or the building. Tho ciiuso of the fire is unknown. Bungeebali was formerly owned and trained by R. Emer?on at Riccarton, and was purchased last month by the North Island sportsmaa Mr Rangi Kerelioma. A Press Association message from Auckland states that Monorail was withdrawn from the Auckland Cup at 10.20 on Tuesday morning. Vice-Ad-miral was on the tracks at Ellerslie, and was indulged in walking exercise. Acceptances for tho Canterbury Park Trotting Club's Summer Meeting close at eight o'clock to-morrow e%-ening. Of the sporting fixtures in Canterbury to-day, the most important is the Ashburton Trotting Club's Summer Meeting, which gives promise of an excellent day's racing. A special train will leave Chrstchurch'at 10 a.m., returning from Ashburton after tno last race.

Boxing Ihiy is always a popular date with racing clubs, and this is clearly shown in the list of to-day's fixtures, wheh include \n various parts of the Dominion nineteen nice meetings (both totalisator and non-totalisntor), and four trotting meetings. Among the race meetings, most interest will be centred in the opening of the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting, at which are seb down for decision such- important events os the Auckland Cup and Great Noilh"rn Foal Stakes. In the former <vrnt Riccarton stables are represented by Vic--Admiral, Los Ang?lcs, Bon Ton, and Masterpiece, while the field for tho Fool Stakes includes Nightwatcli, Mart el, and Mowbray.
