The weather was perfect. While tho procession was through tho famous thorou.uhi'.::" t-i Chandai Chowk, a hoiv.h «•■•!.< thrown. llio Viceroy, who v--> pale, was removed on an improvised stretcher to a motor-car, and the Vicereino returned to the Viceregal Lodge. Tho procession then re-formed and tho ceremony proceeded. Tho police surrouzided tho house and made several arrests. All tho city outlets aro guarded and the.ro is intc-nsa public indignation. Lord Hardingo subsequently sent a message to Sir Guy Wilson, saying that ho was only slightly injured. Sir Guy Wilson read this, at tho Durbar, and" loud cheering ensued, particularly among tho chiefs. A reward of 10,000 rupees is offered for the arrest of the culprits. A boy spectator was also killed. The King sent Lord< Hardinge n message of sympathy. A second attendant was wounded in eight places. Tho Viceroy was removed to tho Vice-regal Lodge, and is doino - well. The elephant driver was uninjured. M-any arrests have been made. Tho procession resumed after the explosion, and Sir Guy Wilson, Financo Member of the Council of India, conducted tho Durbar in place of the Viceroy. ' The Viceroy received a deep wound four inches long, exposing tho shoulder blade, and superficial wounds on tho right hip and nock. Tho bomb was thrown from the office of the Punjab National Bank. It is believed that the thrower escaped.
