A thick drizzling rain fell before the gates \ v.-oro opened at Ellerslie this morning, but i tbo weather gradually cleared, and did not I interfero with training operations, 'i'he bulk of the work was done on the outside of the course proper, which was in good order. Masterpiece and Brown Owl went one , , , round, and Gjenfinnan joining in over the last mile, the journey was covered iv 2min 8 3-stli sec. Masterpiece and Gleniinnan nnished together, with Brown Owi two lengths away. Jack Delaval galloped four furlongs in 52 2-sth sec, and Tangiwai pleased better than Hoathorbrao over six" furlongs, run in lmin ID 2-sth sec. Santa llosa did a round lon the tan assisted by Advocate over the last mile, which was run in lmin 52scc. ■ J Waiorcwa and Bleriot, who had the assistI ance of Lady Gladstone- over the last four furlongs, ran six furlongs on the sand in lmin 22sec, Waiorcwa going best. Winning Way and Nightwatch were together at tbo end of five furlongs, the last five of which were covered in lmin 7sec. Lo Reina was going easier than Vice-Admiral over a round in *2inin 7 4-sth sec, and Bobrikoff did a round on the tan at a sound three-quarter paco. Antoinette and Tact wero together at the end of five furlongs run in lmin 6 l-sth sec, while Mowbrny and Peg were going better iv an Kartol at the end of five furlongs run in lmin 7sec. Sedition easily beat Monopiano ever a round on the tan iv lmin 56 3-Sth sec. The latter was lamo at the finish ; of tho gallop. Soltano covered six furlongs, j the last five in lmin 8 3-sth sec. Ventura was too good for Jason over sii furlongs run in lmin 23sec, and Monorail and Sea Pink ran a mile and a half, the last mile and a quarter occupying 2min 20 l-sth sec. The former finished six lengths in front. Duma and Silvcrlyto were together at the end of six furlongs run in lmin 20scc, and Goldfinder and Midnight Sun ran a milo and a quarter in 2rnin 25sec, the former finishing two lengths in front. Royal Soult has been an absentee from the tracks tho last two mornings. Pyrxnont and Seaman went once round over the hurdles, jumping well. Don Quex and Lloyds were indulged in a similar task, the former going tho better. Nelius and Erindalo, separately, also jumped the hurdles, while a number of other horses wero alao worked.
