I/aat week a cable message was received in Sydney stating that the new White Star liner Ceramic had been successfully launched by Messrs Harland and Wolff, Ltd., at Belfast, -i he Ceramic will be by far the largest steamer ever built for the Australian trade. She is C 75 feet in length and 03 feet in breadth, and her gross tonnage will ho 15,000 tons. She will haro accommodation for GOO passengers of one class only. Her total complement, officers, crew and passen-
pers, will bo 830. The Ceramic will hive « enormous cargo capacity, and portion of sier cargo space will be insulated for tho canity of frozen meat in bulk. The Ceramic, whiei '' •will havo eight decks, will bo fitted win twelve watertight bulkheads, "boats .or tU,*. and every device to securo safety and coa& fort. One feature will be a l fl £K e Ryninaiinjj for tho übo of passengers. The Ccramio i» now being fitted out, and will run her trial trips ia April, 1913.
