Tho British Committee in celebration of the contenary of peace between tho English-speaking nations, formed a Mansion House fund to raise £60,000. Tho preliminary proposals include a monument to George Washington in Westminster Abbey and tho purchase of Sulgrav© Manor his ancestral home. Mr Asquith, Sir Edward. Grey and Mr Roosevelt wrote in support of tho scheme. The lato Mr Whitelaw Reid wrote on tho 6th inst hoping to bo ablo to attend, adding that the movement could not be moro opportune and helpful to tho peace of tht> world. Earl Grey, Lord Emmot, Lord Weardale and tho Burgomaster of G^fi\.t # where tho Treaty o*, 1814 was sigued, were present.
