CONSIDERABLE INCREASES

DUNEDIN, December 4
The Hon. James Allen, Minister of Finance, was entertained at a banquet at Tuapeka Moutli to-night. There was a largo and enthusiastic gathering, and amongst thoso present was tho Hon. Dr. Pomare. In tho course of his speech, Mr Allen stated that tho rovenue for tho eight months ended 80th November was £0,401,340, as against £5,991,800 for the corresponding period of last year. Tlio increases wero:—
For the year ended November 30th, tho revenue was £11.379,659, compared with £10.700,721 for 1911,' an increase of £009,938. Tho f 'lowing showed increases : —
The expenditure for the months ended November 30 th was £6,43.5,800, as against £0,232.510 for the corresponding poriod of 1911.
