SOUTH ISTLAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING

HEADQUARTERS REMOVED TO CHRISTCHURCH.

(special to "thb pkebs.") DUXEDIN, November 28. The nnnual meeting of the South Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association was held to-day. The Otago representatives moved, and it was carried, that Christchurch be the headquarters of the Association. Mr J. Itoss was elected president, Messrs .S. N. Burns (Timaru) and H. P. Harvey (Dunedin) vice-presidents, Mr J. H. Shaw secretary and treasurer; Messrs ; George Jeffreys, A. B. Menzies, and T. H. Jones, councillors. It was resolved, by 18 votes to 4, that Columbarian pigeon rings be not recognised at any affiliated clubs show. It waa decided to alter the 'constitution of the Association, also that the championships for 1913, be distributed among the affiliated clubs. The following show dates were fixed:—Picton, July Ist and 2nd; Christchurch, National Race Week, August; Rangiora, July 3rd and 4th; Ashbnrton, June 13th and 14th; Temuka, July 9th and 10th; Oainaru, July 4th and sth; Dunedin, Winter Show Week, Juno; Invercareill, March 12th and 13t&; Tapanui, July 12th. It was decided to hold the West Coast Champkraship Show at 6ranity. The .Christchurch United Pigeon Club were affiliated to the Association.

It was decided to allot championships as follow:—Poultry: Dunedin, Plymouth Kocks ;■ Ashburton, White Wyandottes: Christchurch, Silver Spangled Hamburgs; Taieri, Bantams; Waimato, Buff Orpingtons; Oamaru, Andalusians; Tapanui, Golden Wyandottes; Gore, Langihans; . Fairlio, Leghorns; Invercargill, ducks; TSmaru, Brawn Leghorns; Temuka, Black Orpingtons; Winton, Black Leghorns and Silver Wyand'ottes; Rangiora, Anconas. Pigeons: Fairlie or Ashburton, cleanlegged Long-faced Tumblers; Gore or Timaru, Muffed Tumblers; Winton or Oamaru. Working Homers; Dunedin or Tapanui, Pouters. Canaries: Inyercargill or Dnnedin, Yellow Norwich, plain head, non-colour fed; Rangiora gr Tapanui, Crest-head Norwich; Waimate or Ternnka, colour fed, any variety, Taieri or Waimate, any other than Norwich; Temuka or Christchurch, Buff Norwich, plain head, non-colour fed.
