The Civil Service Commissioners are Messrs Donald Robertson, Robert Triggs, and A. D. Thomson, S.M. (Pago 6.) Mr A. Kaye's official report on the recent Congress of Chambers of Commerce, held at Boston, will be found on page 4. The Federation of Labour has addressed another manifesto to the people of New Zealand. (Page 7.) Tho Chamber of Commerce yesterday discussed several matters relating to the railways. (Page 5.) At the London wool sales, all classes made appreciably higher rates than those obtaining at the October sales. (Pago 8.) Tho evidence given by Mr A. Fairbairn at Wellington yesterday in the Trust case will be found on page 8. A woman named Amelia Nicholas died in the corridor of tho Courthouse yesterday from heart disease, (Page 5.) Admiral King-Hall, at Auckland yesterday, made a stirring speech on the question of naval defence, and Mr Massey intimated that the Government j were in communication with the Im- j perial Government on New Zealand's future policy. (Page 10.) Particulars of the recent theft of gold in transit are given on page 7. A private action has been com-
menced against Mr S. Samuel, M.P.. in connection with his firm's supply of silver to tho Indian Government. (Page 7.) Mr G. Lansbury, who resigned his seat for Bow and Bromley, in order to contest it as the champion of woman suffrage, was defeated at the by-elec-tion. (Pago 7.) Gales in the English Channel, and on the West Coast have caused damage and loss of life. (Pago 7.) Tho discussion on tho Homo Rule Bill is reported on pa go 7.
