~; ■. _ -4— : ■ \ At the monthly meeting of the Linwood North school committee, Messrs W. Denton (chairman), G. Phillips, G. Gundry, R. Ellis, It. Carter, W. Young, and J. A. Clarko (secretary) were present: Correspondence was read from the Board of Education relative to alterations in sonle of tho rooms. The .headmaster reported the averago attendance to be 452, the highest attendance 486, and the average roll number 513. The examination for sixth standard certificates will be conducted" by Inspector Hardie on December 11th. The sub-committee's programme of aquatic sports on December 12th at tho j Tepid Baths was approved, and Mr W. E. D. Bishop was appointed referee and Mr J. It. Buchanan starter. It was decided to thank tho Dallington residents for providing a picnic for tho scholars on the recent opening of the Dallington tram. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs D. Reese, Vincent, and Pegg for .supplying material for cricket pitches. It was agreed to hold an exhibition of school work on breaking-up day.
