Cloud (0-10) .. ..1 0 SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied tho following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yc.*vrday.— A westerly area of low pressure has dominated weather conditions since Saturday. There has been increasing haze and cUmdiness generally, with heavy rain on the West Coast and in tho southernmost districts of the South Island, but warm and sultry weather on parts of the Eastern coasts of both islands.
Present indications are for a falling barometer in the North, with skies clouding over and rain following. Unsettled and cloudy weather, with rain, is probable in the South, whero the barometer is now unsteady, and due to rise shortly. Hish northerly to westerly winds are probable in the North, and westerlies to soutberlics in the South.
