THE SHOW.
To-day is "Tho People's" Day at tho Show, and given fine weather thero should bo a largo gathering. The Show is an excellent one, both for numbers and quality of exhibits. Stock havo been produced with a good season, aid thoso who go to admiro rather than to criticise, will not bo disappointed with, tho attractive appearanco of tho animal exhibits. Tho sheep, cattlo, and horse sections aro fully representative, ond tho draught horses are tho finest seen on tho ground for r.:any years. In this section there is more outside competition than in any other, several Otago breeders having again successfully invaded the field. Tho implement soction alono is disappointing, when ono remembers tho fine displays made by local manufacturers and importers in former years. On tho othor hand, tents and stands are more mimorbus than ever, and visitors who do not cars for stock will find much to interest them in an inspection of tl-o various goods displayed. Motor car anil cyclo firms tako up a large amount of space, but tho motor car is now ns popular in tho country as in the city, and tho Show ground is naturally selected as a suitable place to make largo displays. To-day there will be tho usual programme of entertainment in the ring, including tho hunter trials nnd grand parade of prize stock. The grounds rapidly dried yesterday after tho. heavy rain on Wednesday,,and the streets wero freo "from tho dust nuisance, so thnt given fine weather the day should bo an enjoyablb one.
