ANNUAL MEETING

Reports presented at the annual meetins of tho V.M.C.A. on Friday evening showed that the work in the various departments prospered during the year and that tho general financial position, is satisfactory. There was a debt of £167 6s 6d ap-1 pcaring against tho Boy's Gordon Hall Pepartmont. They were greatly in- | debted to the ladies auxiliary and to ] the Christchurch papers. Large mim-j ber<J of strangers from other. I j centres or overseas had been welcomed and helped in -. their search for suitable lodgings and employment. The President, in moving the adoption of the report said they had to be thankful for the appointment ol an organising secretary, who had already accomplished a great deal. Addresses were delivered by the Now Zealand organising secretary (Mr Jamieson) nnd the Wellington secretary<lect (Mr Vamey).
