THE ANNUAL CONTESTS.

The eighth night of the contests drew another fairly good - house, last evening. Tho programme contained no les3 than twentytwo items, and. all the performers acquitted themselves -well, tho club eolo and vocal duete being very good. The Union selections for last evening's programme "were: —Vocal duet (female, E), "Beyond"; vocal duet (female, D), "Farewell to Summer"; vocal duet (Class B), ."Piper's Song"; vocal duot (Class C), "Life's Dream is O'er." The programme for to-night will consist of dumbbell displays, vocal solos, pianoforte aolos, and impromptu speeches.
