Owing to the Waini strike the gold leturns for September in the Auckland district amounted to only £29,778 6s, compared with £93 250 12e 10d for September of laut year, a decrease of £63,472 6s 10d. The amount for the eight monthe of the present year is £5,333,349 12s 6d, a decrease of £243,856 7s 9d, compared with the same period last year.
