Thero was a good attendance at the sales. In the stock yards the entry was 1500 sheep, 80 cattle, ami 150 pigs. Prices were: —Fat wethers -'Is to 235, fat ewes 17s 6d to 21s. fat hoggets 20s to 225, store- hoggets (mixed sexes) I6s 8d to 18s 3 wether hoggets los 6d, sound-mouthed ewes with lambs (all counted) 13s lid, failing-mouthed ewes with lambs lis to 12s 6d. Cattle—Fat cows £6 to £7, fat steers £7 to £8 10s, two-year-old heifers £6 2s 6d, eighteenmonths steers £3 10s, calves £2 ss, dry cows. £4 2s 6d, springers £8 10s to £10 os, cows in profit £7 to £9 10s. Pigs—Baconers 50s to 70s, stores 35s to 445, small pigs 16s to 235. In the produce yards prices were: — Heavy crossbred skins 9s Id, medium 7s. lighter Gs 6d, merino skins os 6d, hogget skins 2s 6d, calfskins 3s 6d, hides fjjd. fat lid, fleece wool Bjd. horsehair Is. .Poultry —Roosters 7s 6<l per couple, bent. 4s 4d, pullets 4s lOd. Oats 2s 3d, barley 2s 6d, peas 3s 6d, beans 3s, ryegrass seed 2s 6d, bran 5s per sack, sharps 8s 9d, pigmeal 10s, potatoes 10s. carrots 2s, swedes 2s, parsnips Is 6d, oatsheaf chaff 35.. straw chaff Is 6d, apples 4s per case, onions Is por string.
